Open recruitment of postdoc research fellow
Institution
Department of Civil Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan
Outline
We, water environment laboratory, have initiated a five-year project, which is a part of “Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology (CREST, 2010-2014)” funded by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). In this project, our team aims to determine the critical level (minimum requirement) of environmental flow taking considerations of sustainability of aquatic ecosystems. As a part of the project, in 2011, we are going to start a new interdisciplinary research coupling water resource management with aquatic ecology. Especially, we emphasize the linkage of basin-scale hydrological model with population dynamic modeling for establishing their quantitative relationship, which can be applied for conservation practice of aquatic environment. Hereby, therefore, we seek a postdoctoral research fellow familiar with population dynamics of aquatic organisms such as fish, invertebrates and plants, and modeling techniques related to population viability or biodiversity. We expect the candidate is also familiar with or has an incentive to learn a hydrology and biostatistics.
